This week I worked mostly on the floor plan of the house. Got rooms set up, and windows placed to be able to achieve specific lighting scenarios for various key shots. I took into account the perceived day night cycle being that there is a transition during the short, in an effort to maintain continuity. I also worked some scaling issues between Maya and UE5. Well, issues is more of an overstatement. Really it was just user error. In any case, I made a quick tutorial video for everyone. For this coming week, I will be working in Unreal for the title card/establishing shot. I plan to make use of some pretty neat procedural tools that I expect will expedite the creation process. Below I will include some pictures of the rudimentary layout, along with some lighting concepts. Everything subject (and likely) to change.
